SkinCare Tips——Factors Affecting Skin Elasticity

Human elastin is mainly synthesized from late embryonic to early neonatal period, and almost no new elastin is produced during adulthood. Elastic fibers undergo different changes during endogenous aging and photoaging.

1. Gender and different body parts

As early as 1990, some scholars tested 33 volunteers to study the elasticity of the skin in 11 parts of the human body.

2. Age

3. Environmental factors

The damage of environmental factors to the skin, mainly photoaging, air pollution and other factors has gradually been paid attention to, but the research results are not systematic.

The structural damage to the elastic fibers of the skin is irreversible before the age of 18, and UV protection is important during the growth phase. There may be two mechanisms of elastic fiber sunlight: elastic fibers are degraded by elastase secreted by surrounding cells or irradiated by UV, and elastic fibers are bent during the synthesis process; fibroblasts have the effect of promoting elastic fibers to maintain linearity.
